Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
Solar activity remains at low levels. NOAA 11271 produced the largest flare of the last 24 hours - a C2.9 - at 23:00 UT. There is a newly numbered region near the north east limb, NOAA 11274, whose magnetic topology is difficult to determine due to its proximity to the limb. As such, today's target will remain NOAA 11271. Although clearly in decay, this region is now at disk center and is retaining its penumbral sunspots and some of its magnetic complexity. C-class activity possible.
The position of NOAA 11271 on 21-Aug-2011 15:30 UT is:
N17E1 ( -10", 167")
