Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity is at a moderate-to-high level. Target region NOAA 13806 maintained spot area but increased in number of spots while losing its delta-spot configuration to be classified as a beta-gamma/E-type sunspot group. NOAA 13806 produced high C-class activity, but the region located beyond the South East limb mentioned in yesterday's message continued to produce M-class flares - an impulsive M1.4 and a long-duration M5.5 on 1-Sep-2024 at 07:47 UT and 11:41 UT, respectively. At this point we are initiating a MM#003 Major Flare Watch on this South East limb region. High C-class flares are expected in the following 24 hours, with a good chance for more flares >=M5.
The approximate position of this region on 1-Sep-2024 at 18:00 UT is:
S21E90 , ( -895" , -333" )
