Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has dropped to a low level. The target region NOAA 14325 produced four low-C flares in the past 24 hours, with its largest being a C2.0 flare at 21:27 UT yesterday. This region has been classified as a beta-gamma/F-type sunspot group. Close to the southeast of 14325, NOAA 14323 (S15W49, beta/D-type) was also the source of two low-C flares. Today, 14325 shall continue as the target. Interested observers should try to include 14323 in their field-of-view as well if possible. In addition, NOAAs 14334 (S17E43, alpha/H-type), 14336 (S09E72, alpha/H-type), and 14324 (N26W45, beta/C-type) also produced a few low-C flares. Additional low-C activity is expected in the following 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 14325 on 5-Jan-2025 08:30 UT is:
S08W56 (802", -102")
