Dear Collaborators,
The level of solar activity has increased due to an M4.5 flare at 05:01 UT today from an unnumbered region near the northeast limb, which was mentioned yesterday. This region subsequently produced a C9.9 flare while its sunspot group was partially visible from Earth. Yesterday’s target has been numbered as NOAA 14196 (S11E58, alpha/A-type) and NOAA 14197 (S17E60, beta/D-type). 14197 was the source of an M1.0 at 09:04 UT today and some C-class flares. Today, the limb region should become the new target, considering a higher possibility of additional M-class flares occurring within the following 24-48 hours.
The approximate position of the target on 25-Aug-2025 at 11:30 UT is:
N04E89 (-950", 75")
