Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has been elevated to a high level due to a series of flares from the target region, NOAA 14098. This region produced an X1.1 flare at 01:46 UT today (5/25) in addition to 3 M class and several C class flares in the last 24 hours. At this time, we will implement the Major Flare Watch campaign with NOAA 14098. We will continue to observe the area of leading (negative polarity) sunspots, expecting additional major flares larger than M5.
The position of the target in NOAA 14098 on 25-May-2025 at 15:30 UT is: S04W53 (760", -67").
