Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has declined to a low level since the last message. The largest event in the past 24 hours was an M1.1 flare at 16:21 UT on 10/29 from NOAA 13873. The target region NOAA 13878 has got quiet down since yesterday with no flare activity reported in the past 24 hours.
NOAA 13876 located in the Southwest quadrant has undergone new flux emergence at the location of its trailing sunspots, and so far produced 3 C class flares with the largest being a C7.1 flare at 9:10 UT today(10/30). The newly appeared sunspots increases magnetic complexity of this region to be classified as a beta-gamma-delta type. We will switch the default target to NOAA 13876, and observe the area of newly appeared sunspots for the next 24 hours. Additional C class to low-M class flares are expected.
The position of the target in NOAA 13876 on 30-October-2024 at 16:00 UT is: S05W26 (431",-154").
