Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity continues to be at a background level with the visible solar disk devoid of sunspots. There are still some filament materials as seen from H-alpha images in the target region. Quiet-Sun conditions continue in the next 24 hours.
The approximate position of the target on January 16 at 02:30 UT is: S04W40 (620", -5")
See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
Regards,
Ying Li (Purple Mountain Observatory)
