Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has reached moderate levels since the last message. The largest event in the period was an M1.0 flare at 20:55 UT yesterday, attributed to the target region NOAA 13500 (S18W49, beta-gamma/E-type). However, some other flares from the west limb regions, occurring simultaneously, also contributed to the soft X-ray flux. 13500 was also the source of another eight C-class flares in the period. Today the target shall remain on 13500 due to its past flaring history and ongoing flux emergence. Besides, NOAA 13492 (N19W91, beta/C-type) also produced five low-to-mid C-class flares during the period. Further C-class flares are expected with a chance of additional M-class flares in the next 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 13500 on 2-Dec-2023 at 08:30 UT is:
S18W49, (700",-309")
