Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity is at a low-to-moderate level. Target region NOAA 13647
Has remained stable in terms of sunspot area and number of spots since
the last message, but has increased in primary spot separation while
remaining classified as a beta/D-type sunspot group. This region has
decreased in flaring activity, producing only a C2.5 on 20-Apr-2024
at 04:38 UT in the period. The most flaring region was instead NOAA
13638 (a beta/C-type sunspot group) that is located extremely close
to NOAA 13647 (and 13645). NOAA 13638 produced eight C-class flares,
the largest of which was a C4.8 on 20-Apr-2024 at 00:57 UT (also the
largest in the period). The MM#003 Major Flare Watch will continue
for a possibly final 24 hours. Further C-class flares are expected
over the following 24-hour period, with a chance for M-class flares.

Dear Collaborators,
The level of solar activity is moderate. Target region NOAA 13645
grew in terms of sunspot area and number of spots since the last
message, but simplified in magnetic classification to be reported
as a beta/D-type sunspot group. Some of this decrease in magnetic
complexity is due to some of polarities observed in that location
yesterday now being identified as a new emerging sunspot region,
designated as NOAA 13647 (a beta-delta/D-type group). Multiple
C-class and three M-class flares have occurred from the vicinity
of NOAA regions 13645 and 13647, the largest being an M2.1 flare
on 19-Apr-2024 at 04:40 UT. The MM#003 Major Flare Watch remains
in effect, with a minor shift in targeting coordinates to NOAA
13647, although NOAA 13645 should be kept within an observational
field-of-view if possible. More M-class activity is expected in
the next 24 hours, with a good chance for a >M5 flare.

Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity is at a moderate level. Target region NOAA 13639
was stable in terms of spot area and number of spots since the
last message, remaining classified as a beta-gamma-delta/E-type
sunspot group. This region has decreased significantly in both
flaring frequency and peak flaring magnitude, producing only a
C4.3 flare in the period (17-Apr-2024 at 20:51 UT). In contrast,
newly numbered NOAA 13645 produced ten C-class and two M-class
flares (M1.6 on 17-Apr-2024 at 21:55 UT and M1.3 on 18-Apr-2024
at 07:17 UT). This region was classified as a beta-gamma/C-type
sunspot group at the start of the UT day, but now appears to be
a D-type group with a potential delta spot. The largest flare
in the period was an M2.2 on 18-Apr-2024 at 02:32 UT from NOAA
13638 (a beta/C-type group) that is located close to NOAA 13645
(and also NOAA 13637). The MM#003 Major Flare Watch continues,
but the target switches to NOAA 13645. Additional low M-class
flares are expected over the following 24-hour period, with a
good chance for a >M5 flare.

The level of solar activity low-to-moderate. Target region NOAA 13639
grew in sunspot area and number of spots since the last message, and
has now been reclassified as a beta-gamma-delta/E-type sunspot group.
NOAA regions 13639 and 13634 (now a beta/D-type sunspot group) have
both reduced in peak flaring magnitude, with only a C2.3 flare from
NOAA 13634 (on 17-Apr-2024 at 04:43 UT) and nine C-class flares from
NOAA 13639, with the largest being a C8.1 on 17-Apr-2024 at 03:13 UT.
The largest magnitude flare in the period was an M1.1 from NOAA 13637
(a beta-delta/D-type sunspot group) on 16-Apr-2024 at 17:49 UT. The
MM#003 Major Flare Watch will continue with NOAA 13639 as the target
for another 24 hours. Further low M-class flares are possible in the
next 24 hours, with a chance for an isolated >M5 flare.

grown in sunspot area since the last message and been reclassified
as a beta-gamma/C-type sunspot group (due to reduced levels of limb
foreshortening). NOAA 13634 (a beta/E-type sunspot group) produced
two M-class flares in the period with the largest being an M1.4 on
15-Apr-2024 at 14:01 UT. However, target NOAA 13639 was once again
the most flare-productive region, being the source of five C-class
and four M-class flares, the largest being an M4.0 on 15-Apr-2024
at 19:25 UT. The MM#003 Major Flare Watch will continue with NOAA
13639 as the target. More low M-class flares are probable over the
following 24-hour period, with a chance for a >M5 flare.

The level of solar activity is moderate. Target region NOAA 13637 has
remained stable since the last message, continuing to be classed as a
beta/C-type sunspot group. The North East limb region that was a prior
target for the #MM003 Major flare Watch has now been designated as NOAA
13639 and classed as a beta/C-type sunspot group, although its analysis
before the start of the UT day will be affected by limb foreshortening.
NOAA 13639 was again the most flare-productive region in the period by
generating several C-class flares and three M-class flares, the largest
being an M1.7 on 15-Apr-2024 at 01:06 UT. The overall greatest magnitude
flare was an M2.3 on 15-Apr-2024 at 08:38 UT from NOAA 13634 (a beta/D-
type sunspot group). At this point the MM#003 Major Flare Watch target
switches back to NOAA 13639 due to its greater flaring frequency. More
low M-class flares are probable in the next 24 hours, with a chance for
a >M5 flare.

Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has continued at a moderate level. Most flares
over the past 24 hours came from the vicinity of the target.
These regions have been numbered as NOAA 13637 and
NOAA 13638. 13637 shows a higher magnetic complexity
and has been classified as a beta/C-type sunspot group. It
produced two flares, with the largest one being an M4.3 flare
at 02:24 UT today. 13638 (alpha/H-type) only produced two
low-C flares. Both regions are experiencing the emergence
of new magnetic fluxes. Today the Major Flare Watch region
shall remain with NOAA 13637 and NOAA 13638 (S17E66,
if possible). Further C-class activities are expected with
additional low-M flare probable in the following 24-48 hours.

Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has decreased to a moderate level. The
southeast region (still unnumbered) near the limb became
the most productive and was a source of multiple flares,
with the largest magnitude being an M2.4 flare at 4:58 UT
today. This region is in proximity to multiple sunspots that
show mixed polarities. Today the Major Flare Watch region
will switch to the southeast limb from the northeast limb.
Yesterday’s target (N30E86) only produced two low-C flares.
Further C-class activities are expected with a chance of a
>M5 flare in the next 24 hours.

Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has grown to a high level. The largest event since
the last message was a partially occulted M5.5 flare at 16:52 UT
on 11-Apr-2024 from two unnumbered regions behind the east
limb. This event was very eruptive and the two limb regions are
connected by large trans-equatorial loops. At this point, we are
implementing a Major Flare Watch on the limb region in the
northeast quadrant. Please also include the southeast one
(S18E88) if possible. Further C-class activities are expected with
a good chance of another >M5 flare in the next 24 hours.

Dear Collaborators,
The level of solar activity has continued to increase.
NOAA 13629 produced numerous low-C flares before
it completely rotated over the west limb, with the largest
being a C4.0 flare at 11:39 UT on 10-Apr-2024. The
target region NOAA 13634 has shown signs of shearing
and additional flux emergence and has been classified
as a beta/B-type magnetic configuration, with a high and
increasing current helicity. 13634 was also a source of six
low-C flares. NOAA 13635 (N19E41, beta/B-type) to the
west of 13634 and an unnumbered region (S15E88) also
produced several low-C flares. Further C-class activities
are expected with a low-M flare likely in the next 24 hours.
