Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
Solar activity is at a low level. Two newly spotted regions have emerged in the Northern hemisphere, with only one being numbered by NOAA as region 12666. This region has remained inactive while the smaller new, unnumbered spot group (at approximately N13W68) produced a C8.4 flare on 13-Jul-2017 at 20:01 UT. NOAA 12665 has again decreased in spot area and magnetic complexity, now being designated as a beta/E-type sunspot group. NOAA 12665 continued producing B-class flares and remains the target region. B-class flares are expected in the following 24-hour period, with a good chance for additional C-class flares.
The position of NOAA 12665 on 13-Jul-2017 at 21:30 UT is:
S06W29, ( 456", -159" )
