Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
Solar flare activity has increased today. Target region NOAA 12403 has produced three C-class events (the largest being a C3.4 at 08/20/05:08 UT associated with a small filament eruption) and numerous B-class events since the last message. 12403 is now classified as a beta/D-type sunspot group, increasing in sunspot area and number of spots (also total unsigned current helicity). It is showing some mixed polarities in its intermediate portion. Additional C-class flares are expected with a chance of a low M-class event in the next 24 hour period.
The position of NOAA 12403 on August 20 at 14:35 UT is:
S12E41 (Solar X = -610", Solar Y = -280")
