Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity is at a low level. The high-lying loops of target NOAA 13256 have now rotated out of view over the South West limb. This region was likely the beyond-the-limb source of the largest flare since the last message, a footpoint-occulted C9.7 flare on 31-Mar-2023 at 20:39 UT. At this point we are terminating the MM#003 Major Flare Watch. Of the active regions remaining on the visible disk, NOAA 13262 (classified as an alpha/H-type sunspot group) has produced the most recent flare - a C1.3 on 1-Apr-2023 at 06:59 UT. This region becomes the new target. Further C-class activity is probable in the next 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 13262 on 1-Apr-2023 at 18:00 UT is:
S18W57 , ( 766", -238" )
