Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity remains at a high level since the last message as NOAA 13386 produced a partially occulted X1.5 flare at 20:30 UT yesterday. Moreover, NOAA 13387, a beta type region, has been the site of numerous M- and C-class flares in the last 24 hours, with the largest being an M3.6 at 09:20 UT today. NOAA 13386 has passed further beyond the northwest limb and will remain the target region. The Major Flare Watch campaign will continue for a further 24 hours due to a slight chance of another partially occulted >M5.0 event.
The position of NOAA 13386 on 08-Aug-2023 at 11:30 UT is approximately:
N12W90, (925", 195")
