Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
The level of solar flare activity is very low. Two newly spotted regions with beta magnetic classifications have emerged in the last 24 hours. NOAA 11142 is the target of choice because it is more compact and appears to be continuing to grow in area coverage. B-class activity is probable, with a small chance of a C-class event.
The position of NOAA 11142 on 2-Jan-2011 at 12:00 UT is:
S14E26, ( -422", -190" )
See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
