Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity continues to be at a low level, except for some
prominence activity over the Northeast limb. The largest X-ray
event in the last 24 hours was a C2.5 flare at 22:32 UT yesterday
(5/22) from the target region, NOAA 14095, which is now classified
as a beta-gamma type.
There are a few regions on the disk undergoing new flux emergence:
NOAA 14097 in the Southeast quadrant, an unnumbered region emerged
at Northeast of 14090. NOAA 14094 is also adding new flux. However,
it is still uncertain if they grow further or fade away soon.
Today we will continue to observe NOAA 14095 going over the
Southwest limb, expecting additional C class events.
The position of the target in NOAA 14095 on 23-May-2025 at
15:30 UT is: S05W79 (927", -86").

Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has been low since the last message. The largest
event in the last 24 hours was a C2.6 flare at 18:04 UT yesterday
(5/21) from NOAA 14095. approaching the Southwest limb. Yesterday's
target, NOAA 14093 did not produce flares since the last message,
with the small sunspots located at the trailing area disappeared.
NOAA 14095 is a region that emerged on 5/20 in the Southwest
quadrant. This region started to show high-B to low-C class flare activity
since yesterday and is adding new sunspots in its Southwest vicinity.
In the next 24 hours we will observe NOAA 14095 as the default target,
expecting additional C class activities.

Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has slightly increased since the last message, but
still at a low level. The largest event in the last 24 hours was
an M1.2 flare at 00:01 UT today (5/21) from NOAA 14087. This
flare occurred from the area of trailing sunspots that had a delta
configuration, but these sunspots are rapidly disappearing after
the flare.
Yesterday's target from the Southeast limb was designated as NOAA
14093. It produced at least nine high-B to low-C class flares from
its trailing area in the last 24 hours. Today, we will continue to
observe NOAA 14093, expecting additional C class events.

15:30 UT is: S06E57 (-798", -92").

Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has been at a low level since the last message.
The largest event in the past 24 hours was a C5.3 flare at 05:45 UT
today(5/20) from a region appeared from the Southeast limb at
latitude of ~6 degrees. This unnumbered region also produced 2
high-B and 5 low-C class flares in the past 24 hours.
Yesterday's target from the Northeast limb turned out to be a plage
with small sunspots and does not have an NOAA number yet. This
region only produced a B8.9 flare(20:01 UT on 5/19) after the M3.2
event yesterday.
Today, we will switch our default target to the unnumbered region
from the Southeast limb, because of the more frequent flare history
than the Northeast region (yesterday's target) in the past 24 hours.
Additional C class events or larger are expected.

Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has increased to a low-to-moderate level since the
last message due to the activities from over the Northeast limb.
The region appeared from the Northeast limb at the latitude of ~19
degree produced an M3.2 flare today (5/19) at 08:13 UT. Although
the sunspot is not visible yet from us, this region also produced 4
high-B and 4 low-C class flares. Yesterday's target, NOAA 14087,
has been flare-quiet in the past 24 hours.
Today, we will switch our default target to the yet-to-be-numbered
region on the Northeast limb. Additional C to M class activities
are expected.

Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity continues to be very low since the last message.
Several high-B to low-C flares were reported from multiple regions
in the past 24 hours, with the largest being a C2.2 flare from NOAA
14088 on the Northwest limb.
The target region, NOAA 14087 produced 2 high-B class flares
yesterday (B6.0 at 14:56 UT and B9.7 at 23:11 UT both on 5/17).
The sunspots located at its trailing region split up yesterday but the
larger portion retains a delta configuration. We will continue to observe
this area of NOAA 14087 for the next 24 hours. Additional high-B
to low-C events are expected.

Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has turned to very low since the last message. The
GOES X-ray flux (long band) background is around the B4 level
for the last several hours.
The trailing region of NOAA 14087 retains sunspots with both
polarities, but they do not share the same penumbra anymore. NOAA
14087 produced several high-B to low-C class flares in the past
24 hours with the largest being a C1.1 flare at 22:37 UT yesterday
(5/16). The region from the Northeast limb has given a number
as NOAA 14089, and is producing a few high-B flares.
At this time, we will discontinue the Major Flare Watch campaign,
but the default target continues to be on NOAA 14087 because of
the better flare history than NOAA 14089 in the past 24 hours.

Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has been at a low-to-moderate level since the last
message. The target region, NOAA 14087 is showing flare activities
of high-B to low-M class in the past 24 hours, with the largest
being an M2.1 flare at 17:08 UT yesterday (5/15). Another source of
recent flares is the unnumbered region from the Northeast limb
located at the latitude of ~16 degree, repeating several high-B to
low-C class events.
NOAA 14087 maintains its beta-gamma-delta configuration and has
increased both in size and number of sunspots. We will continue the
Major Flare Watch campaign on NOAA 14087 for another 24 hours.
We will continue to observe the delta configuration at the trailing
sunspots expecting another isolated M class flare with a slight chance
of an event larger than M5.

Solar activity has come down to a low level since the last message.
The target region, NOAA 14087 added one mid-M class flare (M4.7 at
17:59 on 5/14) and after that somewhat has hit a lull only produced
a few low-C class flares. However, the trailing sunspots turned out
to have a delta configuration and thus have high potential of producing
another major flares.
Today we will continue the Major Flare Watch campaign with NOAA
14087 for the next 24 hours. We will continue to observe the area of its
trailing sunspots, expecting additional M class flares or larger.

Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has been elevated to a high level since the last
message due to a chain of major flares from NOAA 14087. The largest
event was an X2.7 flare at 08:04 UT today (5/14) followed by an M7.7
at 11:04 UT. NOAA 14087 produced two more M class and a few C class
flares today. Yesterday's target NOAA 14086, the source region of an
X1.2 flare yesterday, has completed the West limb passage with no
flare reported today.
Today we will continue the Major Flare Watch campaign, with the target
switched to NOAA 14087. This region is still close to the limb to
figure out its magnetic configuration, but the area of trailing sunspots
appear to have mixed polarities and was a source region of the recent
X2.7 and M7.7 events. We will observe the area of trailing sunspots of
NOAA 14087 in the next 24 to 48 hours. Additional M class events or
larger are expected.
