MM#009 Default HESSI Target
Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
Solar flare activity continues at a low level. The largest x-ray
event since the last message was a C2.7 event
at 02/03/09:47 UT produced by recently emerged
NOAA 2280 (S09E45). Target region NOAA 2277 was the
source of a C2.6 event at 02/02/23:11 UT. 2277 has new
flux emergence today within its leading portion and is maintaining
an F-type sunspot group with a weak beta-gamma magnetic
configuration. C-class events probable with the chance
of an isolated M-class event in the next 24 hour period.
The position of NOAA 2277 on February 03 at 16:35 UT is:
N08W04 (Solar X = 067", Solar Y = 239")

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
Solar flare activity continues at a low level. Both NOAA
2268, S11W67, and target region 2277 were the source
of C-class events in the past 24 hours. The largest was
a C3.0 at 02/01/21:26 UT produced by 2268. 2268 is
rapidly decaying especially within its trailing portion.
2277 is mostly unchanged maintaining a large F-type sunspot
group with a weak beta-gamma magnetic configuration.
C-class events probable with a slight chance of an isolated
M-class event in the next 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 2277 on February 02 at 16:35 UT is:
N08E10 (Solar X = -168", Solar Y = 236")

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
Solar flare activity continues at a low level. The largest event
in the past 24 hours was a C3.2 at 02/01/11:33 UT produced
by decaying region NOAA 2268 (S10W54). Target region
NOAA 2277 is displaying minor flux emergence within the
leading portion of its F-type/beta-gamma sunspot group.
C-class events probable with an isolated M-class event in
the next 24 hour period.
The position of NOAA 2277 on February 01 at 16:35 UT is:

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
Solar flare activity was at a very low level for the past 24 hours.
Target region NOAA 2268, S10W41, continues in decay phase.
It is still possible that 2268 will produce additional low-level events
but the target will switch to NOAA 2277 today. NOAA 2277 is
mostly unchanged maintaining its F-type/beta-gamma
sunspot group. C-class events are probable with the chance of
an isolated M-class event as well in the next 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 2277 on January 31 at 16:30 UT is:

MM#009 Default HESSI Target
Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
NOAA 2268 was the source of C-class events and an M2.0
event at 01/30/00:44 UT and an M1.7 event at 01/30/05:36 UT.
2268 has slightly decayed but remains a large F-type/beta-gamma
region. 2268 will continue to be the target region again today.
C-class events expected with the chance of an M-class
event in the next 24 hours. NOAA 2277, N07E53, has a large
F-type/beta-gamma sunspot group but has also decayed somewhat.
2277 produced an M2.4 event at 01/30/12:16 UT. Another M-class
event is possible.
The position of NOAA 2268 on January 30 at 15:45 UT is:

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
Target region NOAA 2268 was the source of an M2.1 event
at 01/29/11:42 UT. 2268 increased its spot count and spot
area somewhat since the last message and continues to
maintain its large F-type/beta-gamma sunspot group.
2268 will continue to be the target region for the next 24 hours.
C-class activity probable with the chance of an isolated M-class
event in the next 24 hour period. NOAA 2277, N07E68, is
also a large F-type/beta-gamma region. 2277 produced numerous
C-class events and an isolated M1.0 event at 01/28/21:37 UT.
2277 will continue to produce C-class activity with the chance
of another M-class event.
The position of NOAA 2268 on January 29 at 11:45 UT is:
S10W07 (Solar X = 117", Solar Y = -072")

MM#009 Default HESSI Target
Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
NOAA 2268 produced an M1.4 event at 01/28/04:41 UT
and a C9.8 event at 01/28/05:30 UT. 2268 is maintaining
a large F-type sunspot group with a beta-gamma magnetic
configuration. 2268 will remain the target for the next
24 hours. C-class events expected with the chance of
another M-class event in the next 24 hour period.
Old NOAA 2257 has completed east limb passage and has
been named NOAA 2277. It is too close to the limb to ascertain
its magnetic complexity but it has been displaying continuous
bright surging. There is a separate large sunspot located on
the limb just north of 2277.

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
NOAA 2268 is mostly unchanged maintaining its
E-type/beta-gamma sunspot group. It was the source
of minor C-class activity since the last message.
C-class events with a chance of another M-class event
is possible in the next 24 hours. 2268 will remain the target
for at least the next 24 period. Old NOAA 2257 is currently located
just beyond the northeastern limb at approximately N07.
2257 was the source of countless C-class events and
a few M-class events (the largest was an M5.6 at 01/13/04:24 UT)
on its first rotation of the visible disk. It produced a couple of
limb occulted C-class events today.
The position of NOAA 2268 on January 27 at 11:30 UT is:

M1.1 event at 01/26/16:53 UT. 2268 has a large
E-type/beta-gamma sunspot group with emerging flux
located within its trailing portion. C-class events expected
with the chance of another M-class event in the next 24
hour period.

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
Solar conditions remain unchanged since the last message, with NOAA
12268 retaining its size and complexity. Both it and NOAA 12264
produced a few C1 flares but NOAA 12264 is now behind the western
limb. NOAA 12268 shall remain the target region with further minor
events possible.
