Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
With NOAA 11263 rotated completely off the disk, solar activity has
dropped significantly. The only flares in the past 24 hours registered
as B class but originated from the highly occulted 11263. Today, with
most other regions in decay, the target will shift to the newly
numbered NOAA 11270 which has recently rotated onto the east limb. The
region consists of bipolar sunspots and is bright in EUV and in
X-rays. It appears to still be evolving and growing so low to moderate
activity may be possible.

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
NOAA 11263 continues to produce significant C class flares - the
largest of these being a C6 event - despite having rotated off the
west limb. Although this region has rotated beyond the limb, it is
clear from STEREO A observations that it is not yet showing signs of
decay. As such, 11263 will continue to be today's target. However,
given its high longitude, we will call off the Major Flare Watch as a
>M5 flare is not likely from our perspective.

MM#003 Major Flare Watch
Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
Target region NOAA 1263 was the source of several C-class events
in the past 24 hour period. It is now too close to the west limb
to ascertain its magnetic configuration but earlier in the period it
still had a beta-gamma-delta magnetic classification.
1263 is maintaining bright H-alpha plage with some minor
surging over the delta configuration. Another event =>M5 is
not as likely but still possible in the next 24 hours.

MM#003 Major Flare Watch
Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
Target region NOAA 1263 produced an X6.9 event - the largest
flare of Cycle 24 at 08/09/08:05 UT. 1263 rapidly developed
negative polarity flux yesterday just south of the positive polarity spots
of the weak delta located in the intermediate portion of the
region. This formed a very tight strong delta configuration.
Another =>M5 event is still possible before 1263 limb passage.

MM#009 Default HESSI Target
Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
Solar flare activity is low - only one C-class event in the past
24 hour period. NOAA 1263 produced a C1.3 at 08/08/03:10 UT.
1263 developed early in the period but now appears to be
decaying slightly. The region is currently classified an
E-type/beta-gamma with a widely spaced delta configuration
located within its intermediate portion. Additional C-class
events expected with a slight chance of an isolated M-class
event. If 1263 has a resurgence of growth, it could produce
an event =>M5.

Target region NOAA 1263 is a large E-type/beta-gamma region.
1263 was the source of several minor C-class events in the
past 24 hour period. New flux rapidly developed in the trailing portion
of 1263 - current EFR location is N18W43. This new region is
too close to 1263 to consider it a separate region. C-class activity
expected today with an increasing chance of an isolated M-class event.

MM#009 Default HESSI Target
Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
NOAA 1261,N14W73, continues in decay phase. The primary target
will switch to NOAA 1263. 1263 is mostly unchanged
maintaining its beta-gamma magnetic configuration. 1263
was the source of most of the C-class activity but the largest C-class
event was a C4.1 at 08/06/08:47 UT produced by recently
emerged NOAA 1267 (S17E17). 1267 currently has a very
small magnetic delta configuration located in its leading
sunspot. 1267 should produce additional C-class events today.
Target region, 1263, could be the source of an isolated
M-class event in the next few days.

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
NOAA 1261 rapidly decayed losing most of its magnetic
complexity after the major M9 event yesterday
but was still able to produce several C-class events in the
past 24 hour period. Another major flare is unlikely at this
time. NOAA 1263, N17W24, has also decayed somewhat.
Both regions currently have a beta-gamma magnetic classification.
It is possible that 1261 and/or 1263 could produce
an isolated M-class event in the next few days.

Target region, NOAA 1261, was the source of another significant
event - M9.3 today peaking at 03:57 UT. Another major flare is
possible as long as 1261 maintains a complex beta-gamma-delta
magnetic configuration. 1263, N17W12, is currently a
beta-gamma-delta region with the potential to produce an
M-class flare. 1261 will continue to be the primary target.

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
Target region, NOAA 1261, was the source of a significant
M6.0 event at 08/03/13:48 UT. 1261 also produced an M1.1
event at 08/03/03:37 UT. NOAA 1263, N17E02, was the source
region of an M1.7 event at 08/03/04:32 UT. Both regions
currently remain magnetically complex and are capable of producing
further M-class events in the next few days.
The target region will continue to be 1261.
