Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has continued at a low level since the last message. NOAA 14549 has not produced any further large flares since the M6.4 two days ago. Three C1.1 flares were produced since the last message, originating from NOAA 14549 and 14545. NOAA 14549 has changed in complexity and is now classified as a beta-delta region. This region is in proximity to the northwestern limb and will traverse the limb in the coming days. The sunspot activity from this region also appears mild. Meanwhile, NOAA 14551 has evolved into a beta-gamma region though it is yet to produce any significant activity. For now, the MFW will remain active for what may be the final 24 hours in preparation for a potential spontaneous >M5 event from NOAA 14549. However, it is likely that we will see further B and low C-class activity.
The position of NOAA 14549 on 12-Oct-2026 at 7:30 UT is:
N09W71, (898", 116") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org and the newer version https://solmon.dias.ie for images and other information.
