Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has remained at a low level. The largest event since the last message was a C1.8 flare at 14:09 UT yesterday from NOAA 14425 (N06W82, alpha/H-type), which also produced two ~C1 flares. Yesterday’s target NOAA 14424 only produced a C1.3 flare before it completely transited out of Earth-view. NOAA 14431 on the disk was also the source of three ~C1 flares, and was classified as a beta/E-type, with new spots emerging. Although 14425 produced the largest flare, its proximity to the northwest limb limits further observation. Therefore, today’s new target is NOAA 14431. Continued C-class activity is probable in the coming 24-48 hours.
The position of NOAA 14431 on 06-May-2026 at 11:30 UT is:
S16W08 (127", -205")
