Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has been at a moderate-to-low level since the last message. In the past 24 hours, NOAA 14424 produced three C-class flares, the largest of which was a partially occulted C6.0 flare at 05:21 UT today, following an M1.8 flare yesterday. This region was classified as a beta/D-type sunspot group and has rotated beyond the northwest limb. Close to the southeast of 14424, NOAA 14425 (N05W68, alpha/H-type) produced three ~C2 flares in the period with the emergence of new magnetic fluxes. Today the target will switch to NOAA 14424 (with 14425 included). C-class flares are likely in the following 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 14424 on 05-May-2026 at 11:30 UT is:
N17W91 (909", 276")
