Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has slightly increased since the last message. Several flares were produced over the last 24 hours, the largest being an M5.1 from NOAA 13796 at 21:59 UT yesterday. NOAA 13796 is currently classified as a beta-gamma region with an area of 350 μh. At this time we are initiating a Major Flare Watch with NOAA 13796 as the target region. Further C- and M-class activity is expected with a chance for an additional >M5 flare in the next 24-48 hours.
The position of NOAA 13796 on 22-August-2024 at 11:30 UT is:
S03E19, (-309",-158")
