Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has increased to a high level since the last message. The largest event during the period was an M9.3 flare at 01:22 UT today, 3-Jun, from the target region NOAA 14455 (N13W07, beta/ C-type; see the SSW Latest Events entry https://www.lmsal.com/solarsoft/latest_events/#M9.3_AR_4455_N131W10_Earth_Strike_Zone_EUVME). This region was also the source of another M3.3 flare and several C-class flares during the period. At this time, we are implementing a Major Flare Watch campaign for NOAA 14455 due to its ongoing flux emergence around the leading main sunspot. Further C-class activity is expected, with a chance of an additional isolated >M5 flare in the coming days.
The position of NOAA 14455 on 3-Jun-2026 at 03:30 UT is:
N13W07, (112",220")
