Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity is at a low-intermediate level. Several flares were produced since the last message, including a partially-occulted X2.9 from a currently unnumbered region behind the southeast limb at 06:49 UT today. It is believed that this region corresponds to the previously numbered active region NOAA 13664 rotating back onto the disk. This region also shows significant flux emergence. At this time we are implementing a Major Flare Watch and the target region will switch to the southeast limb surrounding this active region as it rotates onto the solar disk. Further >M5 activity is possible within the next 24-48 hours.
The approximate position of the target region on 27-May-2024 at 11:30 UT is:
S18E86, (-899", -291")
