MM#009 Default Target
Dear Collaborators,
Target region NOAA 3014 is now located well beyond the northwestern limb but was the source of a few limb occulted C-class events since the last message. The regions currently located on the visible solar disk all have simple alpha magnetic classifications. The default target will switch to NOAA 3023. (H-type/alpha). No significant solar flare activity expected in the next 24 hour period.
The position of NOAA 3023 on May 28 at 15:30 UT is: S14E29 (Solar X = -446", Solar Y = -214")
See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
