Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has slightly increased since the last message, but
still at a low level. The largest event in the period was a B4.9
flare at 3:23 UT today (8/9) contributed by two regions, NOAA 14498
and 14502, both located on the West limb. Although these regions
repeated mid-B class events in the last 12 hours, they are being
out of Earth's view in the coming 24 hours.
Yesterday's target, NOAA 14504 only produced a B4.2 event at 00:13
UT today. The patches of its plage are getting thinner but maintain
some magnetic complexity. In the next 24 hours, we will continue to
observe the Easternmost plage of NOAA 14504, expecting additional
B-class events.
The position of the target in NOAA 14504 on 9-August-2026 at
15:30 UT is: S22E25 (-372", -442").

Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has been very low since the last message.
Yesterday's target, a small emerging region in the East of NOAA 14503
was assigned a number, NOAA 14504. This region produced several
B-class events, including a B7.6 at 08:48 UT today(8/8) which was the
largest event in the period. There is no other source of flare
activities in the last 24 hours.
Today we will continue to observe NOAA 14504, on the East side of
the plage at the boundary of the positive and negative polarities.
Additional B-class events are expected.
The position of the target on 8-August-2026 at 15:00 UT is:
S21E39 (-555", -421").

Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity continues to be at a low level since the last message.
The largest event in the past 24 hours was a C1.0 flare at 19:21 UT
yesterday (8/6) from a newly emerged region in the East of NOAA 14503.
This region consists of several tiny pores and surrounding plage, thus
yet unnumbered. There was an eruptive event from behind the East limb
at ~5 degrees South, which is the main contributor of a few hours of
hump in GOES X-ray flux starting around 6UT today (see the SSW movie
link below) .

Yesterday's target, NOAA 14498 only produced a B5.6 flare at 18:10 UT,
while a few low-B class events were reported from its adjacent region
NOAA 14500. Both regions lost sunspot area and magnetic complexity.
Today we will switch the default target to an unnumbered region from
the Southeast limb, the source of a C1.0 flare yesterday. We will
observe the East side of the plage with positive polarity associated
with the pores of negative polarity. High-B to low-C class events are
expected.
The position of the target on 7-August-2026 at 16:00 UT is:
S21E51 (-689", -402").

Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity remains low since the last message. The largest event
in the past 24 hours was a B9.2 flare at 15:22 UT yesterday (8/5)
from NOAA 14498. Yesterday's target, NOAA 14502 produced two mid-B
class flares, while it slightly decreased sunspot area.
NOAA 14498 and its adjacent active region, NOAA 14500 share a bright
plage with a dark flament between them. In addition to the B9.2 flare
from 14498, NOAA 14500 also produced a B5.4 flare at 8:40 UT today.
Although these flares are minor, hot EUV loops are brighter over
these two regions than those in NOAA 14502. Therefore we will switch
the default target back to NOAA 14498 to observe the activities from
these combined regions. The target will be on the South side of the
main sunspot of 14498, expecting additional B-class events or larger
and a filament activity.
The position of the target in NOAA 14498 on 6-August-2026 at
16:00 UT is: N13W51 (722", 154").

Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has slightly increased after the message yesterday,
but has come back to a low level for the lastest several hours.
The largest event in the past 24 hours was a C1.7 flare at 05:56 UT
today (8/5) from NOAA 14502 located in the Southwest quadrant.
A small region rotated from the Southeast limb, mentioned yesterday
was registered as NOAA 14503, but only produced a minor flare below
C class. The target region, NOAA 14498 lost its area and magnetic
complexity, only showed minor activity since yesterday.
Today we will switch the default target to NOAA 14502 to observe its
following sunspot. We will look at the area where the C1.7 flare was
initiated, expecting additional C class events.
The position of the target in NOAA 14502 on 5-August-2026 at
16:00 UT is: S06W31 (495", -185").

Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity continues to be very low since the last message.
The largest event in the past 24 hours was a C1.2 flare at 11:52 UT
today (8/4) from a small region rotated from the Southeast limb
at ~18 degrees earlier today. This region appears to be accompanied
by a tiny sunspot and produced another low-C class flare at 14:15 UT.
However, it is still uncertain whether this region will grow further.
The target region, NOAA 14498 only produced a high-B class event
in the past 24 hours. This region is showing signs of decay, but
remains to be the most magnetically complex region on the disk.
Therefore we will continue to observe NOAA 14498 in the next 24
hours, at the small sunspot in the Southeast of the main sunspot,
expecting the activities of low-C class.

16:00 UT is: N13W23 (369", 131").

from the target region, NOAA 14498. This region was slightly reduced
in size but maintains its magnetic complexity of a beta-delta type.
Today, we will continue to observe NOAA 14498 on the small sunspot
with mixed polarity, that is located in the Southeast of the main
(positive polarity) sunspot. Additional C class events are expected.

15:30 UT is: N12W09 (159", 117").

Solar activity has slightly increased since the last message.
The largest event during the period was a C6.3 flare at 05:19
UT today from NOAA 14492 near the west limb (N16W88; see
the SSW Latest Events entry
<https://www.lmsal.com/solarsoft/latest_events/#AR_4492_on_North_West_Limb_N…>).
This region also produced several
other C-class flares, including C4.0 and C2.5 events, but has
rotated out of view from Earth. The target region NOAA 14498
(N14E03) produced no significant flares during the period, but
has developed into a beta-delta magnetic configuration, with an
increase in spot number. Nearby NOAA 14500 (N18E07, beta/
D-type) has also shown slight growth. Today we will continue to
watch NOAA 14498 as the target region. If possible, please also
include 14500 in your field of view. Further C-class activity is
expected, with only a slight chance of an isolated low M-class
flare in the next 24 hours.

Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has decreased to a low level since the last message.
Yesterday's target region, NOAA 14499 (N05W15), produced two
low C-class flares during the period, a C1.6 and a C1.0. This region
has now reduced in magnetic complexity and is currently classified
as a beta type region. The largest event during the period was a
C1.8 flare at 18:53 UT yesterday from NOAA 14498 (N14E15, beta
-gamma/D-type). 14498 also produced another C1.1 flare during
the period. NOAA 14500 (N18E21, beta/C-type) is moving closer
to 14498, and the coronal magnetic connectivity between the two
regions is becoming stronger and more complex. Therefore, today
we will switch the target region back to NOAA 14498. If possible,
please also include 14500 in your field of view. Further C-class
activity is expected, with only a slight chance of an isolated low
M-class flare in the next 24 hours.
