Dear Collaborators, Solar activity remains low since the last message. The largest event during the period was a C3.9 flare at 09:08 UT today from NOAA 14475 (S09W13, beta-gamma/D-type), which also produced a C3.1 flare later in the period. The target region NOAA 14478 (S06E39, beta-gamma-delta/F-type) produced several low C-class flares and remains the largest and most magnetically complex region on the visible disk. Continued significant flux emergence is still visible in NOAA 14478, especially in its central part. Today, we will continue with NOAA 14478 as the target region. Further C-class activity is expected, with a chance of an isolated low M-class flare in the next 24 hours. The position of NOAA 14478 on 27-Jun-2026 11:30 UT is: S06E39 (-592", -130") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has slightly increased since the last message. The largest event during the period was a C6.6 flare at 14:53 UT yesterday from the target region NOAA 14478 (S06E56). 14478 has increased in magnetic complexity to a beta-gamma-delta configuration and produced several additional C-class flares in the period, including C5.8 and C5.0 events. Today, we will continue with NOAA 14478 as the target region, as it is showing significant magnetic flux emergence. Further C-class activity is expected, with a chance of an isolated low M-class flare in the next 24 hours. The position of NOAA 14478 on 26-Jun-2026 11:30 UT is: S06E56 (-779", -120") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Dear Collaborators, Solar activity remains low since the last message. The largest event during the period was a C4.3 flare at 00:15 UT today from the limb target region. This region is now numbered as NOAA 14478 (S06E68). This region produced several additional C-class flares during the period, including C3.8 and C4.0 flares, and is classified as a beta-gamma/F-type sunspot group. NOAA 14475 (S09E14, beta-gamma/C-type) also produced five low C-class flares. Today, we will continue with NOAA 14478 as the target region, due to its significant ongoing magnetic flux emergence. Further C-class activity is expected, with only a chance of an isolated low M-class flare in the next 24 hours. The position of NOAA 14478 on 25-Jun-2026 at 11:30 UT is: S06E68 (-871", -112") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has increased since the last message. The largest event during the period was a C8.7 flare at 23:18 UT yesterday, produced by an eastern limb region (S06E78; not yet numbered). This limb region also produced more than ten additional C-class flares during the period, including a C6.0 flare. Yesterday's target region, NOAA 14475 (S09E31, beta-gamma/C-type), produced several low C-class flares, including a C3.5 flare. Today, the target will switch to the eastern limb region. Further C-class activity is expected, with only a slight chance of an isolated low M-class flare in the next 24 hours. The approximate position of the target region on 24-Jun-2026 at 11:30 UT is: S06E78 (-919", -106") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has remained at a very low level since the last message, with the GOES 1–8 A flux mostly flat near C1. These low C-class events came mainly from yesterday's target region NOAA 14473 (S09E33, beta- gamma/D-type), newly numbered NOAA 14475 (S09E44, beta-gamma/ C-type; formerly the trailing main sunspot of 14473), and two eastern limb regions. NOAA 14473 has decayed significantly, with a rapid decrease in both sunspot number and sunspot area. At this time, we are ending the Major Flare Watch. The default target will switch to NOAA 14475, as it is showing relatively active flux emergence on the eastern side of its main sunspot. Further low C-class activity is expected, with only a slight chance of an isolated M-class flare in the next 24 hours. The position of NOAA 14475 on 23-Jun-2026 11:30 UT is: S09E44, (-649", -171") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has decreased to a low level since the last message. The largest event during the period was a C2.6 flare at 22:30 UT yesterday from the target region NOAA 14473 (S08E49). 14473 has increased in magnetic complexity to a beta-gamma/E-type, with continued magnetic flux emergence and mixed polarity around its leading sunspots. Today, the Major Flare Watch will remain with NOAA 14473 for a further 24 hours. Further C-class activity is expected, with a chance of an isolated >M5 flare in the next 24 hours. The position of NOAA 14473 on 22-Jun-2026 11:30 UT is: S08E49, (-707", -151") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. 21 Jun '26

Dear Collaborators, An M7.0 flare was produced by the target region, NOAA 14473 at 19:17 UT today(6/21). At this time, we will implement the Major Flare Watch campaign with NOAA 14473. In the next 24 hours, we will observe the area of leading sunspots where the M7.0 flare was initiated. Additional M-class activities are expected with a chance of another major event(>M5). The position of the target in NOAA 14473 on 21-Jun-2026 at 22:00 UT is: S08E53 (-753.", -154"). Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has increased to a moderate level. Yesterday's target rotated from the Southeast limb produced two M class flares since the last message: a M1.0 at 14:54 UT yesterday(6/20) and a M2.6 at 2:25 UT today, the latter was the largest event in the period. This region, now assigned to NOAA 14473, is also the source of several high-B to mid-C class events in the last 24 hours. The leading (Western) portion of this region consists of multiple small spots with mixed polarity, while the Eastern portion appears to be a single large spot with negative polarity (still too close to the limb to describe further). Today, we will continue to observe NOAA 14473 at the leading portion of sunspots where the M2.6 flares are from. Additional C class to low-M class events are expected. The position of the target in NOAA 14473 on 21-Jun-2026 at 15:30 UT is: S08E57 (-790.", -155"). 20 Jun '26

Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has slightly increased since the last message due to the activities from the regions rotated from the Southeast limb. The largest event in the period was an M1.3 flare at 01:26 UT today (6/20) from the region rotated from the Southeast limb yesterday, now assigned the number, NOAA 14472. There is another region rotated from the limb at the latitude of ~8 degrees South, which has been our default target since yesterday. This yet-unnumbered region produced several flares including 2 C1.9 flares (at 11:15 UT and another at 12:06 UT) today, while NOAA 14472 has kept quiet after the M1.3 flare. Today, we will continue to observe the unnumbered region from the Southeast limb at ~8 degrees South, expecting additional C class activities. The position of the target from the Southeast limb on 20-Jun-2026 at 15:00 UT is: S08E75 (-901.", -149"). Dear Collaborators, Solar activity remains low since the last message. The largest event in the 24 hours was a C1.3 flare at 21:49 UT yesterday (6/18) from behind the Southeast limb at ~9 degrees. Several high-B class events were reported from the regions behind the Southeast limb extended from 5 to 25 degrees South. A small sunspot rotated from the limb at ~13 degrees South but so far not showing flare activity. NOAA 14465 approaching the Southwest limb produced 3 high-B class flares, while yesterday's target, NOAA 14470 has been flare-quiet in the last 24 hours with slightly decreased sunspot area. Today, we will observe the Southeast limb region, the current brightest area at ~8 degrees South, as the default target. Additional high-B to low-C class flares are expected. The position of the target on the Southeast limb on 19-Jun-2026 at 16:00 UT is: S08E84 (-929.", -143").
