Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has remained at a very low level since the last message, with the GOES 1–8 A flux mostly flat near C1. These low C-class events came mainly from yesterday's target region NOAA 14473 (S09E33, beta- gamma/D-type), newly numbered NOAA 14475 (S09E44, beta-gamma/ C-type; formerly the trailing main sunspot of 14473), and two eastern limb regions. NOAA 14473 has decayed significantly, with a rapid decrease in both sunspot number and sunspot area. At this time, we are ending the Major Flare Watch. The default target will switch to NOAA 14475, as it is showing relatively active flux emergence on the eastern side of its main sunspot. Further low C-class activity is expected, with only a slight chance of an isolated M-class flare in the next 24 hours.
