Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has reached an intermediate level. The largest event was a C7.2 flare at 02:36 UT today from an unnumbered region near the northeast limb. This region also produced seven low-C flares and became the most productive. Today, this limb region should become the new target. Yesterday’s target, NOAA 14456 has been flare-quiet in this period. Further C-class activity is expected in the next 24 hours. The approximate position of the target on 8-Jun-2026 at 11:30 UT is: N09E84 (-900", 150") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has returned to a low level since the last message. The largest event during the period was a C3.3 flare at 04:10 UT today from the target region NOAA 14456 (N18W41), which also produced seven low C-class flares in the period. 14456 has developed into a beta-gamma-delta magnetic configuration and continues to show significant magnetic flux emergence. Today, the target region will remain NOAA 14456. Further C-class activity is expected, with a chance of low M-class activity in the next 24 hours. The position of NOAA 14456 on 7-Jun-2026 at 11:30 UT is: N18W41, (591", 292") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has increased to a moderate level since the last message. The largest event during the period was an M1.9 flare at 13:40 UT today from NOAA 14461 (S21E24, beta/C-type), but its sunspot area remains very small (20 uh). Yesterday's target region, NOAA 14455, produced only two C-class flares during this period, with the larger being a C4.1. NOAA 14456 (N18W28, beta-gamma/C-type) produced several C-class flares in the period, including a C8.8. Today, the target region will switch to NOAA 14456, as it is showing significant magnetic flux emergence. Further C-class activity is expected, with a chance of additional low M-class activity in the next 24 hours. The position of NOAA 14456 on 6-Jun-2026 at 11:30 UT is: N18W28, (423", 293") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has decreased to a low level since the last message. The largest event during the period was a C2.1 flare at 20:11 UT on 4-Jun from NOAA 14458 (S05W28). The target region NOAA 14455 (N15W41) produced only one C1.5 flare during the period and has decreased in complexity to a beta-gamma magnetic configuration. NOAA 14457 (S09W79, beta/C-type) also produced four low C-class flares in the period. Today, we will end the Major Flare Watch campaign and continue to watch NOAA 14455 as the default target region due to its recent flare history. Further C-class activity is expected, with a chance of an isolated low M-class flare in the next 24 hours. The position of NOAA 14455 on 5-Jun-2026 at 11:30 UT is: N15W41, (600",247") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has remained at a high level since the last message. The largest event during the period was an X1.0 flare <https://www.lmsal.com/solarsoft/latest_events/#X1.1_AR_4455_N14W15_Fast_Sho…> at 11:19 UT on 3-Jun from the target region NOAA 14455 (N14W25). This region has increased in magnetic complexity to a beta-gamma-delta configuration, and produced an M7.7 flare and numerous C-class flares during the period. Today, we will continue the Major Flare Watch campaign for NOAA 14455 for another 24 hours. Further C-class flares are expected, with a chance of an isolated >M5 flare in the next 24 hours. The position of NOAA 14455 on 4-Jun-2026 at 07:30 UT is: N14W25, (389", 234") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has increased to a high level since the last message. The largest event during the period was an M9.3 flare at 01:22 UT today, 3-Jun, from the target region NOAA 14455 (N13W07, beta/ C-type; see the SSW Latest Events entry <https://www.lmsal.com/solarsoft/latest_events/#M9.3_AR_4455_N131W10_Earth_S…>). This region was also the source of another M3.3 flare and several C-class flares during the period. At this time, we are implementing a Major Flare Watch campaign for NOAA 14455 due to its ongoing flux emergence around the leading main sunspot. Further C-class activity is expected, with a chance of an additional isolated >M5 flare in the coming days. The position of NOAA 14455 on 3-Jun-2026 at 03:30 UT is: N13W07, (112",220") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has increased to a moderate level since the last message. The largest event during the period was an M1.3 flare at 09:51 UT today from the target region NOAA 14455 (N15E04, beta/C-type). This region also produced several C-class flares during the period, including C3.1 and C3.8 events. Continued flux emergence is visible around the leading main sunspot of NOAA 14455. A southwest limb region near S22E84 produced an M1.2 flare and a few low C-class flares in the period, but has not yet fully rotated onto the disk. Therefore, today we will continue to watch NOAA 14455 as the target region. Further C-class activity is expected, with a chance of additional low-level M-class activity in the next 24-48 hours. The position of NOAA 14455 on 2-Jun-2026 at 11:30 UT is: N15E04, (-63", 254") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has remained at a low level since the last message. The largest event during the period was a C1.9 flare at 21:42 UT yesterday from a limb region (N21E89), which has not yet rotated onto the disk. NOAA 14446 (S15W42, beta/C-type) and the nearby region 14449 (S09W37, alpha/H-type) produced most of the other low C-class flares, but 14449 has decayed significantly, with a rapid decrease in sunspot area. The target region NOAA 14455 (N15E17, beta/C-type) produced only a C1.1 flare during the period, but clear flux emergence is now visible to the north of its leading main sunspot. Therefore, today we will continue to watch NOAA 14455 as the target region. Further C-class activity is expected, with a chance of isolated low-level M-class activity in the next 24 hours. The position of NOAA 14455 on 1-Jun-2026 at 11:30 UT is: N15E17, (-268", 255") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Dear Collaborators, Solar activity continues at a low level. The largest flare produced in the last 24 hours was a C3.1 from NOAA 14446 at 01:59 UT today. The active region eastward of the target region continues its transition onto the disk and appears to show significant flux. The target region, NOAA 14455, has been relatively quiet since the last message. In general activity across the disk remains low. As the region beyond the northeastern limb continues to progress onto the disk, NOAA 14455 will continue as the target region. Further C-class activity is expected. The position of NOAA 14455 on 31-May-2026 at 07:30 UT is: N15E34, (-512", 256") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Dear Collaborators, Solar activity is at a low level. Several flares have been produced since the last message, the largest being a C4.8 from NOAA 14444 at 11:45 UT today. NOAA 14455 appears to be fully progressed onto the disk, however a bright region still remains beyond the northeastern limb, which may produce further occulted activity. Elsewhere, sunspot activity appears steady across the disk. Further C-class activity is expected in the next 24 hours. The position of NOAA 14455 on 30-May-2026 at 11:30 UT is: N15E44, (-636", 255") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
